I
have lived in and travelled to many places in the world but have now
settled in Nova Scotia on the Eastern Shore.
I
am drawn to coastal communities - the sea, the beaches, rocky coasts
and inlets, and salt marshes. The light here is amazing - huge
skies and reflections from both lakes and sea, snow in winter, water
in the summer.
I
delight in photographing a place over and over again in all its
seasons. I look for moods and reflections in the natural environment.
I study the landscape to find the unusual in the usual.
To
capture a moment of light, colour, mood and composition the
photographer has to 'be there'! That moment is often fleeting -
requiring patience and technical knowledge - capturing an image that
is utterly unique.
Close
up to nature or a dramatic sea or sky, the Eastern Shore is a truly
wonderful place to create art through a lens.
